This seasoning mix is a classic blend of smoky, spicy, and savory flavors. It can be stored in a jar for months and used in tacos, burritos, soups, casseroles, or even sprinkled over roasted potatoes. It’s one of those kitchen staples that makes cooking quick and flavorful.

Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon ground cumin

  • 1 tablespoon smoked paprika (or sweet paprika)

  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder

  • 1 teaspoon onion powder

  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano

  • 1 teaspoon salt

  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper

  • 1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes (optional, for heat)

Instructions

Step 1: Measure spices

Place all the spices into a small mixing bowl.

Step 2: Mix well

Stir until all spices are fully combined and evenly distributed.

Step 3: Store properly

Transfer the seasoning to an airtight jar or spice container. Label and store in a cool, dry place for up to 6 months.

Step 4: Use in recipes

Use 2–3 tablespoons of seasoning per pound of meat, adjusting to taste. Add 2/3 cup of water with the seasoning when cooking ground beef for tacos.
